Meet Mama Joy and Her “Bundle of Joy” Puppies!

Mama Joy was found as a stray in Bakersfield—very pregnant and ready to give birth at any moment. Thankfully, she made her way to the safety of the shelter, where she delivered six darling puppies.

Just five days later, Mama Joy and her tiny “Bundle of Joy” arrived at Mission Bay Puppy Rescue, where they could finally rest, feel safe, and receive all the love and care they needed.

From the very beginning, Joy has truly been one of the very best mamas we have ever had. She is gentle, attentive, and devoted to her babies, making sure they are always clean, fed, warm, and loved.

But Joy is also so much more than a wonderful mother.

She has shown absolutely no reactivity toward our other dogs, always greets us with a happy wag and a big smile, and has been completely housebroken from the moment she arrived. She is affectionate, easygoing, and grateful for every bit of kindness she receives.

For now, Joy’s puppies will remain with us while they grow strong, learn, play, and receive all the medical care and socialization they need before becoming available for adoption.

Once her puppies are old enough and her job as a mama is complete, Joy will be spayed and ready to begin a brand-new chapter of her own.

This sweet girl has already given so much love to her babies, and we know she is going to make someone very, very happy one day.
