Radar
MY STORY:
Meet Radar – Our Resilient Little Pup
Radar is a 3-month-old Pit Bull mix who was found alone and disoriented in a mall parking lot. Blind and clearly abandoned, he was scared and unsure of his surroundings. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan stepped in and brought him to the San Diego Humane Society, who immediately reached out to us at Mission Bay Puppy Rescue for help. We said yes—without hesitation.
This sweet boy is now safe in our care and beginning the journey toward a brighter future. While Radar is visually impaired, he’s full of personality—happy, curious, and already adapting in his own brave way.
We’re committed to giving Radar the best chance at a full and joyful life. That starts with a visit to a veterinary eye specialist to properly diagnose the cause and extent of his blindness. From there, we’ll work with trainers who specialize in blind dogs and provide Radar with the right tools—like a “halo” harness to help him navigate new spaces and protective goggles for outdoor play.
What Radar Needs in a Forever Home Blind dogs like Radar do best in calm, consistent environments where they can learn their way around with confidence. Radar would thrive in a home with another friendly, well-adjusted dog who can help guide and comfort him as he grows. He learns quickly by following the lead of other dogs and gains confidence from having a canine buddy nearby.
His ideal family will be patient, loving, and open to learning how to support a blind pup. Blind dogs rely on their other senses—especially touch, smell, and sound—to navigate the world, and Radar is already showing just how capable he is.
Help Us Help Radar Radar's care will include specialty vet visits, training, and specialized gear—all of which come at a cost. If you’re not in a position to adopt but still want to help, please consider making a donation toward Radar's care. Every contribution, big or small, helps us give pups like Radar the second chance they deserve.
This little guy may not see the world the way most dogs do—but with your help, he’ll know exactly what it feels like to be safe, loved, and home.
