Mama JoJo
Meet Mama JoJo, a 4-year-old Bull Terrier mix with a heart as big as her sweet smile. Mama JoJo’s journey hasn’t been an easy one—she was brought to the San Diego Humane Society while pregnant and gave birth to six beautiful puppies. After her little ones were safely delivered, she was relinquished to Mission Bay Puppy Rescue, where she could get the love and care she deserves.
When she first arrived, we noticed she was struggling to stand and walk—her back legs would sometimes give out. A vet exam revealed that she has an old injury: a fractured L7 vertebra. While this can’t be surgically corrected, our vet believes she can still live a long, happy, and healthy life with some mindful care and a calm household. JoJo is able to walk and get around, but she’ll thrive best in a quieter home without a lot of rough play or stairs.
Mama JoJo is affectionate, resilient, and ready to transition from mama life into cherished family member. She will be available for foster or adoption in about five weeks. If you’d like to be considered as her forever person, please fill out an application—we know she will reward her family with endless love and gratitude.
✨ We are also accepting donations toward Mama JoJo’s continued veterinary care so she can get the very best support as she begins her next chapter.
