Meet McLaren — “Mac” for Short
On October 1st, a scrappy, tail-wagging visitor scratched at the door of a kind 70-year-old woman. On her doorstep stood a skinny, hungry, but incredibly happy brown dog. She welcomed him in, gave him a warm meal, and took him to the Humane Society to check for a chip — none was found. After holding him for several days with no owner in sight, she became his first hero, getting him vet-checked, vaccinated, and dewormed.

Her daughter then began searching for a rescue to take him in. With shelters and rescues full everywhere, it wasn’t easy — but this story tugged at our hearts, and we knew Mac belonged with us.

From the moment he arrived, Mac fit right in. First stop: the food bowl (twice!). Next: a joyful romp with the other pups in the yard. He’s sweet, social, and playful, with a gentle heart and plenty of puppy energy to burn.

We think Mac is a classic mutt with a splash of Shepherd, currently about 7 months old and 30 lbs, and we expect he’ll reach 50–70 lbs full grown. He’d thrive in an active home and would love another dog to play with.

Mac has already proven he’s resilient, grateful, and full of love — now he’s just waiting for his forever family to take him for the ride of his life. ❤️
